JEws against marginalization (JAM)

Jews Against Marginalization (JAM) is a FREE affinity space for Jews of Color, Sephardic, and Mizrahi (JOCSM) youth (ages 14-18). This program is a safe, inclusive space for youth to explore and celebrate their intersectional identities while building community. JAM registration is open on a rolling basis and you do not have to be enrolled in OG or LGiT to join this program.

JAM is where diaspora meets & identities integrate, for youth to learn from and uplift each other. Our Jewish social justice & program values include: tikkun olam, intentional authenticity, belonging, rest, play, connection, and radical joy as a form of protest.

Are you interested but not sure if you fall under one of the JAM identities? Check out this FAQ page which has more information and explains each of the JAM identities!

Through JAM, youth have access to…

  • In-person gatherings to build community, rest, decompress, and pursue joy

  • Virtual gatherings to bond with JOCSM peers across the United States who share their experiences

  • Peer-led panels with Jews of Color, Sephardi, and/or Mizrahim (JOCSM) leaders

  • Intergenerational community events by and for JOCSM folks

Hear from youth in JAM:

JAM has allowed me to find a community and family that I will be grateful for forever- Thank you for empowering me to reclaim space in Judaism that I’ve felt disconnected from for so long. Thank you all for a wonderful time of encouragement and love. <3

JAM is more than a club, it’s a family. A family that I can depend on and without hesitation willing to give all my help.

JAM has been truly life changing. I’ve made such good friends virtually and irl (in real life), and I can’t wait to make more. Everyone brings such different perspectives and contributes something different, it’s an amazing group!
— Satya Zamudio
JAM (and JYCA) to me is really just a space to be 100% myself. It’s a place (even over Zoom!) to talk about identity, belonging, and have SO much fun with my friends. I’m so grateful for this community!
